Junkyard Golf Club in London is not called Junkyard Golf Club any more.
Checked on 6 October 2026: the Shoreditch venue is now Ted’s Crazy Golf London, and it opens on 16 October 2026.
It is the same building, 78 Great Eastern Street, and junkyardgolfclub.co.uk still lists London among its venues, but clicking through sends you to tedscrazygolf.co.uk. The Oxford site has gone the same way, and Ted’s own map link for Oxford still points at a Google listing titled Junkyard Golf Club. Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle remain Junkyard.
So if you have a recommendation, an old booking link or a gift voucher for Junkyard Golf in London, it is the Ted’s booking system you now need.
Every guest needs physical photo ID, and there is no refund if you forget
This is the thing that will cost somebody their evening, so read it before you go.
“Photo ID is required to gain entry to any of our venues.” Not for under 25s. For entry.
Only physical ID is accepted: passports, driving licences, provisional driving licences, or verifiable PASS ID and Citizen cards.
“Scans/photographs of ID or digital ID are not accepted.”
“We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who is unable to provide a valid ID and tickets can’t be refunded.”
And the part that catches work parties: “If you have booked a corporate or group booking you will still be required to bring physical ID with you for every member of the group.”
A photo of your licence on your phone, which passes almost everywhere else in London, does not pass here. The ID must be in date and show your photo and date of birth clearly. Challenge 25 applies on top.
If you booked with a student discount, bring the student ID as well, and note that the student discount is only valid for the ID holder, not for the group they came with.
Last golf is an hour before closing
The hours have a hidden edge in them.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 4pm to 11pm.
Friday 4pm to 11.30pm.
Saturday midday to 11.30pm.
Sunday midday to 8pm.
Monday is not listed at all.
“Last golf 1 hour before close.”
So the real cut-off for playing is 10pm Tuesday to Thursday, 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday, and 7pm on Sunday. A Sunday arrival at 7.30pm gets a bar and no golf.
Note also that nothing opens before 4pm from Tuesday to Friday. There is no weekday lunchtime round here, unlike Swingers or Puttshack.
Children have two different curfews
Supervised under-18s are welcome, on a split schedule that is easy to misread.
Sunday to Friday: until 7pm, last time slot 6pm.
Saturday: until 4pm, last time slot 3pm.
Saturday is three hours tighter than every other day. And since Saturday is also the only day that opens at midday alongside Sunday, the Saturday family window is midday to 4pm, a four hour slot.
Two more conditions that change the cost. The supervising adult must buy a ticket and play the course, so you cannot drop children off and sit in the diner. And one adult may supervise up to five under-18s, which is generous compared with most London venues.
The adult must bring valid physical photo ID. Ted’s describes itself as strict on this for licensing and health and safety reasons.
Family tickets cap the child age at 16
A family ticket covers four players on one course: either two adults and two children, or one adult and three children.
“The maximum age of a child included in Family Tickets must be 16.”
So a seventeen year old is an under-18 for the curfew but an adult for the ticket, which is the kind of gap that produces an argument at the desk. A family of two parents and a seventeen year old is not a family ticket.
Nine holes or eighteen, and eighteen means both courses
There are two 9 hole courses, and the ticket you buy decides whether you see one or both.
BAD BONES: a pedalo ferry to the other side, then nine holes with gargoyles, skeletons, sea serpents, a Venus flytrap and a Cat Bat Spider.
TOYS BITE: nine holes of retro toy themed mini golf with robots, vampire teddy bears and Buddy In a Box.
A 9 HOLE ticket is one course. An 18 HOLE ticket is both, and you walk back to the start between them for the team to set you off again.
A visit usually lasts 1 to 1.5 hours for nine holes, including check-in and ordering food.
Arrive at the time on the ticket, not before
Unlike Swingers, where arriving early buys you a better tee-off, Ted’s wants you at the stated time.
“Please arrive at the time displayed on your ticket.” That window covers check-in, food and drink, and getting to the course.
Arrive late and you may be sent straight to your course, or moved to a later slot if the venue is busy.
Walk-ins are welcome at all times, subject to availability, which is more relaxed than most of the category.
An honest warning on access
Ted’s is unusually frank about this and it is worth quoting rather than paraphrasing.
“Due to the nature of the game, access to the golf courses may be limited for anyone experiencing mobility issues. All our courses involve different levels, ramps, steps, lower-level obstacles, uneven edges, and restrictive spacing. Seating is also limited at each venue.”
They ask you to speak to them before booking. That is a genuinely different answer from Clays, which is fully accessible with lifts and ramps throughout, and worth knowing if anyone in the group has mobility needs.
The cloakroom is free, subject to availability.
Forty-eight hours, and the deposit rule for groups
Refunds and changes up to 48 hours before.
Groups can cancel before paying the final balance and lose only the non-refundable deposit, and can change the booking once at that stage, subject to availability.
Group bookings start at 10 or more, by the contact form or email, with special packages.
To add a person, just buy another ticket for the same slot and course online.
The Deadbeat Diner
The food side is a retro diner: pizzas, hot dogs, milkshakes, ice blasts, coke floats, themed cocktails and a fully stocked bar.
The allergen position is blunt. The food contains cereals, gluten, soya, milk and sulphates and is prepared on busy bars, and Ted’s cannot guarantee any food is allergen free or that cross-contamination has been eliminated. Tell them before you order, every time. That is the opposite of Puttshack’s nut-free kitchen.
Where it is
78 Great Eastern Street, London EC2A 3JL.
In the middle of Shoreditch, opposite the Hoxton Hotel and next to the Art Hotel. Three minutes from Old Street, ten minutes from Shoreditch High Street or Liverpool Street.
How to plan it
Bring a physical passport or driving licence. Everyone, every time. A phone photo is refused and the ticket is not refunded.
Playing on a Sunday: be there by 7pm. Last golf is an hour before the 8pm close.
Nothing opens before 4pm Tuesday to Friday. Weekend only for a daytime round.
Bringing children on a Saturday: midday to 4pm, last slot 3pm. Every other day runs to 7pm.
The supervising adult has to play, and can cover up to five under-18s.
Family ticket: children must be 16 or under.
Want both courses: buy the 18 HOLE ticket, not two nines.
Mobility needs: call first. Levels, steps and narrow spacing throughout, and limited seating.

How to get in
Physical photo ID is required from every guest for entry, including every member of a corporate or group booking. Digital ID and photographs of ID are refused and the ticket is not refunded. Last golf is one hour before closing, so Sunday play stops at 7pm. Course access is limited for anyone with mobility issues, with levels, steps, uneven edges and restrictive spacing throughout.
Where to go next
Crazy golf in London compares the courses, and Swingers and Puttshack are the other two operators, both of which open at lunchtime.
Shoreditch covers the area, and Clays and Flight Club are the nearest competitive socials with step-free access.
Questions we get asked
Is Junkyard Golf still open in London?
The venue is, under a new name. Checked on 6 October 2026, the Shoreditch site at 78 Great Eastern Street is now Ted's Crazy Golf London and opens on 16 October 2026. Junkyard Golf Club still lists London among its venues but the link goes to tedscrazygolf.co.uk. Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle remain Junkyard Golf Club.
Do you need ID for Ted's Crazy Golf?
Yes, every guest, every visit. Only physical photo ID is accepted: a passport, driving licence or provisional licence, or a verifiable PASS ID or Citizen card, valid and showing your photo and date of birth. Scans, photographs and digital ID are not accepted, a Challenge 25 policy applies, and refused entry is not refunded. Corporate and group bookings need ID for every member.
What time is last golf at Ted's Crazy Golf?
One hour before closing. That means 10pm Tuesday to Thursday, 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday, and 7pm on Sunday. The venue opens at 4pm Tuesday to Friday and midday on Saturday and Sunday, and Monday is not listed.
Can children go to Ted's Crazy Golf?
Supervised under-18s are welcome until 7pm Sunday to Friday, with a last time slot of 6pm, and until 4pm on Saturday, with a last slot of 3pm. The supervising adult must buy a ticket and play the course, can cover up to five under-18s, and must bring valid physical photo ID.
What is a family ticket at Ted's Crazy Golf?
Four players on one course, either two adults and two children or one adult and three children. The maximum age of a child on a family ticket is 16, so a seventeen year old counts as an adult for the ticket even though they are still an under-18 for the curfew.
What is the difference between a 9 hole and 18 hole ticket?
Nine holes is one course, eighteen is both. There are two courses, Bad Bones and Toys Bite. With an 18 hole ticket you finish the first course, return to the start and the team sets you off on the second. A nine hole visit usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours including check-in and ordering.
