Not one of the six best known kitchens in Peckham will cook you dinner on a Sunday. Two of them are shut all day, and the last one still serving stops at half past six.
This is the single most useful thing to know about eating here and no list prints it, because lists print addresses rather than closing times. Peckham reads as a late, loose, permanently open sort of neighbourhood. Its kitchens keep neighbourhood hours, and the week ends on Sunday afternoon.
Here is when the food actually stops, checked against each restaurant’s own pages on 27 September 2026 and rechecked on 2 October 2026, except Levan, Bar Levan and Hausu, whose own sites could not be loaded that day.
Sunday, and the half past six wall
| Room | Sunday | Monday |
|---|---|---|
| Levan | Midday to 3pm | Closed all day |
| Bar Levan | Not on its published list | Not on its published list |
| Artusi | Midday to 4pm | Dinner only, 6pm to 9.30pm |
| 139 Fika | Closes 5.30pm | Closes 5.30pm |
| Forza Wine | Kitchen stops 7pm | Full hours, kitchen to 10.30pm |
| Hausu | Closed | Closed |
A Sunday booking in Peckham is a lunch booking whatever time you ask for. Hausu does not open at all, Levan is finished by three, Artusi by four and 139 Fika by half past five. Forza Wine is the only room still pouring at eight and it has shut its kitchen by then.
Forza Wine is the important line in that table, because it is the only one that stays open into the evening at all and it is the easiest to misread. The bar runs to eight and the kitchen runs to half past six, so arriving at seven gets you a glass of wine and nothing to eat with it.
None of this is unusual for a residential district. It is only surprising because Peckham has a reputation for the opposite, and because the guides that built that reputation do not mention hours at all.
Monday is a different problem
Monday is worse than Sunday in one respect: two rooms do not open at all.
Hausu is closed Sunday and Monday both, which makes it a five day restaurant, and Levan shuts completely on Mondays as well. 139 Fika is open but stops at half past five, so it is a daytime room rather than a dinner one.
Artusi opens for dinner only, six until half past nine, with no lunch service at all. Turn up at one o’clock on a Monday and the door is shut, on a street where it is the reason most people made the trip.
Forza Wine keeps full hours, midday to midnight with the kitchen running to half past ten, which makes it the default Monday answer in this postcode by some distance.
The useful version: on a Monday, Peckham has one kitchen serving at lunchtime and one serving after ten. They are the same kitchen, and it is Forza Wine.
The rooms
Levan, Blenheim Grove
The restaurant most people mean when they say they are going to Peckham to eat, and it is a minute from the station.
Levan
- Address
- Blenheim Grove, SE15 4QL
- Nearest
- Peckham Rye, under a minute on their own reckoning
- Hours
- Tuesday to Saturday midday to 3pm and 6pm to 10pm. Sunday midday to 3pm. Monday closed
- Standing
- Just off Rye Lane, less than a minute from Peckham Rye station
How to get in
Closed all day Monday and finished by 3pm on Sunday, which between them remove two of the days most people are free. Their own menus page publishes no prices, so ring if the budget matters. Bar Levan next door is the same operation and keeps much longer hours.
Bar Levan, 12 to 16 Blenheim Grove
Next door to the restaurant, and the part of the operation that solves the hours problem.
Bar Levan
- Address
- Unit 5, 12 to 16 Blenheim Grove, SE15 4QL
- Nearest
- Peckham Rye
- Hours
- Tuesday to Thursday 5pm to midnight. Friday 5pm until late. Saturday from 3pm until late. No Sunday or Monday on the published list
- Booking
- Their own line is that walk ins are always welcome, and they keep space for them
- Standing
- Wine bar, kitchen and shop, next door to the restaurant
How to get in
A wine bar with a kitchen and a shop attached, open to midnight midweek when the restaurant next door has stopped at ten. It states plainly that walk ins are always welcome, which makes it the answer when Levan is full or shut.
Artusi, 161 Bellenden Road
The Italian on Bellenden Road, ten minutes off Rye Lane and a quieter street entirely.
Artusi
- Address
- 161 Bellenden Road, SE15 4DH
- Nearest
- Peckham Rye
- Hours
- Monday 6pm to 9.30pm, dinner only. Tuesday to Thursday midday to 2.30pm and 6pm to 9.30pm. Friday and Saturday midday to 2.30pm and 6pm to 10pm. Sunday midday to 4pm
- Standing
- Italian, on Bellenden Road rather than Rye Lane
How to get in
Open on a Monday when Levan is not, but for dinner only, so a Monday lunch here does not exist. Sunday finishes at 4pm. Bellenden Road is a different Peckham from Rye Lane and worth the ten minute walk for that alone.
139 Fika, 139 Bellenden Road
African, Caribbean and British cooking on the same quiet street as Artusi, and it runs as a daytime room for most of the week.
139 Fika
- Address
- 139 Bellenden Road, Peckham, SE15 4DH
- Nearest
- Peckham Rye
- Hours
- Open Monday to Wednesday 8am to 5.30pm, Thursday to Saturday 8am to 11pm, Sunday 8am to 5.30pm. Daytime service Monday to Thursday 11am to 2pm, Friday 11am to 3.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3.30pm. Dinner Thursday to Saturday 5.30pm to 10pm
- Standing
- African, Caribbean and British cooking, on Bellenden Road
How to get in
Their own note is the clearest statement of this district’s problem: Sunday to Wednesday it is closed at 5.30pm. Dinner exists on three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday, and that is the whole of it. Open from 8am every day, which makes it the best breakfast on this page by default.
Hausu, by Peckham Rye station
The shortest week of anywhere here, and the one most likely to catch out a weekend visitor.
Hausu
- Address
- Peckham Rye Station, SE15 4RX
- Nearest
- Peckham Rye
- Hours
- Kitchen Tuesday to Friday 5pm to 10pm, Saturday midday to 10pm. Sunday and Monday closed
- Standing
- A five day restaurant and bar beside the station
How to get in
Closed Sunday and Monday both, which no other room on this page does, and no lunch at all from Tuesday to Friday. Saturday is the only day it serves from midday. Check the day before you plan around it, because it is the one Google puts in front of you and the one most likely to be shut.
Forza Wine, 133A Rye Lane
The one that keeps proper hours, and the only room here open seven days.
Forza Wine
- Address
- 133A Rye Lane, SE15 4BQ
- Nearest
- Peckham Rye
- Hours
- Monday to Saturday midday to midnight, kitchen midday to 10.30pm. Sunday midday to 8pm, kitchen midday to 7pm
- Standing
- Open seven days, which nothing else on this page manages
How to get in
The longest hours in Peckham and the only kitchen running past ten. Watch the gap between the bar and the kitchen: on a Sunday the room is open until eight and the food stops at half past six, which is the most commonly misread timing in the district.
What this means for a visit
Come on a Friday or a Saturday. That is the only stretch when every room on this page is serving both lunch and dinner, and the difference is not marginal. Tuesday to Thursday works too, with shorter evenings.
If it has to be Sunday, book lunch and mean it. Midday to two is the window where you have a choice. By four you have one room. By seven you have a wine list and no kitchen.
If it has to be Monday, it is Forza Wine or an Artusi dinner. Those are the two options and Levan is not one of them.
Rye Lane and Bellenden Road are two different evenings. Rye Lane is the busy one, with the station, Forza Wine and the Levan pair within a few minutes. Bellenden Road is residential, quieter, and about ten minutes west. Decide which one you want before you book, because walking between them in the rain at half past nine is nobody’s plan.
Everything here was taken from each venue’s own published pages on 27 September 2026 and rechecked on 2 October 2026. These are small independent rooms and hours change, particularly on Sundays and bank holidays. Confirm before you travel.

Where to go next
The best restaurants in London puts these against the rest of the city, and the late night guide covers the kitchens that keep going when Peckham’s have stopped.
The Italian guide has Artusi’s competition across town, and the wine guide covers the rest of London’s wine bars with kitchens attached.
The Sunday roast guide is the answer to the problem at the top of this page: if the plan was Sunday dinner, it needs to happen somewhere else.
Brixton is the neighbour with a deadline on it: Pop Brixton closes towards the end of 2026 on the council own published position, while Brixton Village and Market Row were listed as Assets of Community Value in July 2026.
Across south London: Borough Market and London Bridge are both a short train from Peckham Rye and keep considerably longer hours.
Questions we get asked
What are the best restaurants in Peckham?
Levan on Blenheim Grove is the one most people mean, a minute from Peckham Rye station, with Bar Levan next door keeping much longer hours. Artusi on Bellenden Road is the Italian, on a quieter street ten minutes west. Forza Wine on Rye Lane has the longest hours of anywhere here and is the only one open seven days a week. 139 Fika does African, Caribbean and British cooking on Bellenden Road, and Hausu sits by the station but opens only five days.
Is anywhere in Peckham open for Sunday dinner?
Not for dinner as most people mean it. Of the six rooms checked for this page, Hausu is closed all day, Levan stops at 3pm, Artusi at 4pm, 139 Fika at 5.30pm, and Forza Wine keeps its bar open until 8pm but closes its kitchen at 7pm. Bar Levan does not list a Sunday at all. A Sunday booking in Peckham is a lunch booking whatever time you ask for.
What is open in Peckham on a Monday?
Fewer places than you would expect. Hausu and Levan both close completely on Mondays. 139 Fika is open but stops at half past five. Artusi opens for dinner only, six until half past nine, with no lunch service. Forza Wine keeps full hours, midday to midnight with the kitchen to half past ten, which makes it the reliable Monday answer for both lunch and a late meal.
How late can you eat in Peckham?
Half past ten at Forza Wine on Rye Lane, Monday to Saturday, which is the latest kitchen of the rooms checked here. The bar itself runs to midnight. Bar Levan on Blenheim Grove is also open to midnight from Tuesday to Thursday and later on Friday and Saturday, and it welcomes walk ins, though it is a wine bar with a kitchen rather than a restaurant.
Do you need to book restaurants in Peckham?
For Levan and Artusi yes, both are small and Levan in particular runs a short week. Bar Levan states that walk ins are always welcome and keeps space for them, which makes it the reliable unbooked option. Forza Wine has the longest hours in the district, so it absorbs a lot of the overflow when everywhere else is full.
How do you get to Peckham?
Peckham Rye station is the one to aim for, on the overground and the national rail lines from London Bridge and Victoria. Levan and Bar Levan are under a minute from it on their own reckoning, and Forza Wine is a few minutes along Rye Lane. Bellenden Road, where Artusi is, is about ten minutes west and a much quieter street.
