Checked on 5 October 2026, and two of the names on every crazy golf list in London are not currently open. Plonk’s Hackney course and its Borough Market course both carry the line THIS VENUE IS NOW TEMPORARILY CLOSED on their own pages, repeated about a dozen times down each one. Plonk’s own home page still presents both as if you could turn up tonight.
A third name has changed hands entirely. Junkyard Golf Club’s London page now redirects to Ted’s Crazy Golf, which opens on 16 October 2026. So if you booked Junkyard London for next week, check what you actually booked.
Here is what is open, what it costs, and the booking rule that catches people out.
What a round actually costs
The prices are close enough to look the same and far enough apart to matter over four people.
Puttshack White City is 13 pounds for one nine hole game. Puttshack Bank is 14 pounds for the same game. Same company, same city, a pound apart.
Swingers West End is 12 pounds off peak and 15 pounds peak, where off peak means weekdays before 5pm.
So the cheapest round of crazy golf in central London is a weekday afternoon at Swingers, and the dearest is a Friday night at the same place.
The unlimited ticket, and the day it stops working
Puttshack sells an all day ticket and it is the best value on this page, with one condition that is easy to miss.
Unlimited golf is 20 pounds at Bank and 18 pounds at White City, and it is available Sunday to Thursday only. At White City that is five pounds more than a single round for as many rounds as you want. On a Friday or Saturday it is not sold at all.
There is also 50 per cent off a second game, which is the Friday and Saturday version of the same idea and worth asking about rather than booking two rounds.
Two discounts are worth knowing if they apply to you. Students get buy one get one free Monday to Wednesday plus 20 per cent off food and drink, and Blue Light card holders get two for one on the same days, also with 20 per cent off the menu.
Swingers West End, and the time slot that is not your time
At 15 John Prince’s Street, W1G 0AB, one minute from Oxford Circus and five from Bond Street.
This is the rule nobody repeats and it is in Swingers’ own FAQ. The 30 minute slot you book is not your playing time. You are given a tee off time when you arrive, and it can fall anywhere inside that slot. The venue asks you to arrive no later than 15 minutes before it starts, and says plainly that the earlier you arrive the better the choice of tee off times.
In other words, a 7pm booking does not mean you play at 7pm. Turn up at 6:45 and you get to choose.
Opening hours run Monday 3pm to 10:30pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 1pm to 10:30pm, Thursday 1pm to midnight, Friday 1pm to 12:30am, Saturday 10:30am to 12:30am and Sunday 10:30am to 9pm.
Two more things. Crazy golf is not compulsory: there is no entry fee to come in for the food and the bar, which makes it a usable Oxford Circus drink in its own right. And food and drink packages start at 31 pounds a head, which is more than double the golf.
Under 18s are admitted during family sessions only. The venue describes itself as a 1920s British seaside, and it is now the company’s only London site.
Puttshack, Bank and White City
Bank is at 1 Poultry, Queen Victoria Street, EC2R 8EJ. White City is at Westfield, Ariel Way, W12 7HB.
The balls are tracked, so scoring is automatic and there is no pencil. That is the actual difference from everywhere else on this page.
Bank runs Sunday 11am to 9pm, Monday midday to 10pm, Tuesday midday to 10:30pm, Wednesday to Friday midday to 11pm and Saturday 11am to 11pm. White City closes earlier: Sunday 11am to 9pm, Monday to Wednesday midday to 9pm, Thursday and Friday midday to 10pm, Saturday 11am to 10pm.
Nobody under 18 is admitted after 7pm at either site, and children of 12 and under must be with an adult at all times. Junior tickets are 9.50 pounds a round.
Bank is currently running a ten week Trejo’s Tacos residency, which is the food rather than the golf but is the reason to pick that site over the other.
Ted’s Crazy Golf, from 16 October
At 78 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3JL, opposite the Hoxton Hotel and three minutes from Old Street. Two nine hole courses described as fun and creepy, plus a retro diner called the Deadbeat Diner.
The hours are published already: Tuesday to Thursday 4pm to 11pm, Friday 4pm to 11:30pm, Saturday midday to 11:30pm and Sunday midday to 8pm. Monday is not listed.
Last golf is one hour before closing, which on a Sunday means the last round starts at 7pm. That is the number to plan around, not the closing time.
This is the site Junkyard Golf Club’s London web address now points at. Our Shoreditch page covers what else is on that stretch of Great Eastern Street.
Plonk, both sites, temporarily closed
Plonk ran two London courses and both pages now carry the closure line. Hackney is at Arch 407 Mentmore Terrace, E8 3PP, two minutes from London Fields, an outdoor Polynesian themed course that had just been rebuilt and covered against the rain. Borough Market is in Arches B to E, Montague Close, off Green Dragon Court, SE1 9DA, a London themed course under the railway arches with street art on the walls, ceiling and floor.
Both pages still describe the pool tables at five pounds for half an hour and the monthly doubles tournaments, which is what makes the closure easy to miss: everything reads as live except the banner.
We have kept them here rather than deleting them, because temporarily closed is not closed and these are the two courses worth watching for a reopening.
How to choose
Cheapest round: Swingers on a weekday afternoon, at 12 pounds.
Best value for an afternoon: Puttshack White City, 18 pounds unlimited, Sunday to Thursday.
Nearest to a night out: Ted’s in Shoreditch from 16 October, which runs latest and sits in the middle of the bars.
With children: Puttshack before 7pm, since that is the cut off at both sites, or a Swingers family session.
For the rest of the booked-by-the-hour category, the activity bars cover darts, shuffleboard and the rest, and bowling is the closest comparison on price.

Questions we get asked
How much is crazy golf in London?
Between 12 and 15 pounds a round. Swingers West End is 12 pounds off peak, meaning weekdays before 5pm, and 15 pounds at peak times. Puttshack is 13 pounds a round at White City and 14 pounds at Bank, with juniors at 9.50 pounds.
What is the best value crazy golf in London?
Puttshack's unlimited ticket, at 18 pounds at White City and 20 pounds at Bank. At White City that is five pounds more than one round for as many rounds as you like. It is sold Sunday to Thursday only, so it does not help on a Friday or Saturday night.
Is Plonk crazy golf still open?
Not at the moment. Both London courses, Hackney on Mentmore Terrace and Borough Market under Montague Close, carry a temporarily closed notice on their own venue pages, although the Plonk home page still lists them.
What happened to Junkyard Golf Club in London?
Its London web address now redirects to Ted's Crazy Golf, which opens on 16 October 2026 at 78 Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch, with two nine hole courses and a retro diner.
Does the Swingers time slot mean when you play?
No, and this catches people out. The 30 minute slot you book is not your playing time: you are given a tee off time when you arrive, which can fall anywhere inside the slot. Swingers asks you to arrive no later than 15 minutes before, and says the earlier you arrive the more tee off times you can choose from.
Can children play crazy golf in London?
Yes, with limits. Puttshack admits nobody under 18 after 7pm at either London site, and under 12s must be accompanied at all times, with junior tickets at 9.50 pounds. Swingers admits under 18s during its family sessions only.
