A private karaoke room lit in neon, with banquette seating, a screen and a bar counter

Ask what karaoke costs in London and you get four numbers that look like a price range and are not one. Five pounds a head, eight pounds an hour a head, thirty five pounds a head, and one of the largest venues in Europe declining to say.

Those numbers are not comparable, because the rooms are not selling the same thing. One is renting you a booth. One is renting you a booth with a bigger booking team behind it. One has no room fee at all and asks you to spend on dinner instead.

Work out which of the three you want before you compare prices, and the choice makes itself. Here is what each one publishes.

The cheapest rooms

Simmons Bar

Eight sites across central and east London, and the only chain here starting at a single figure.

Simmons Bar

Address
Eight karaoke sites: Soho, Greek Street, Leicester Square, King’s Cross, Old Street, Oxford Street, Liverpool Street and Monument
Nearest
Tottenham Court Road for the Soho room, two minutes. Monument and Old Street both two minutes from their own
Booking
Online, per room
Price
Pricing options start from 5 pounds per person at Old Street and Leicester Square
Standing
Over 50,000 songs, with private rooms in eight London bars

Read the capacity before the price, because the rooms are wildly different sizes and the cheap ones are the small ones. Old Street holds five people and Leicester Square holds six, which is where the five pound figure comes from. The Soho room is a mocked up 1970s flat with a record player, disco lights and a hoover in it, and holds twenty five. Oxford Street is fitted out as a recording booth for up to fifteen, Greek Street hides fifteen in a basement behind an unmarked door, and Monument is the large one: up to 150 people, with minimum spends starting at 250 pounds for two hours. Liverpool Street and King’s Cross both take fifty and come with their own bar and bartender. Soho, Oxford Street and the Soho games room are open seven days.

The one with five London venues

Lucky Voice

Doing private room karaoke since 2005, and the name most Londoners reach for first.

Lucky Voice

Address
52 Poland Street, Soho, W1F 7NQ. Also Holborn, Islington, Liverpool Street and Waterloo
Nearest
Oxford Circus for Soho. The Sidings at Waterloo Station for that one
Hours
Soho Monday and Tuesday 5pm to 1am, Wednesday to Friday 5pm to 2am, Saturday midday to 2.30am, Sunday 2pm to 11pm. Every venue keeps its own
Booking
Online, or by telephone and email per venue. Soho 020 7439 3660
Price
From 6 pounds per person per hour at Islington and 8 elsewhere off peak, rising to 14 at peak, with a two hour minimum booking. Rooms take from 2 people, up to 15 in Soho and 20 at Waterloo
Standing
Private room karaoke since 2005, with five London venues and one in Brighton

The thing to check before anything else is the day, because three of the five close at the start of the week. Holborn shuts on Sunday and Monday, Waterloo on Monday, and Islington is shut Monday to Wednesday. Holborn is the latest of the five, running to three in the morning from Thursday to Saturday, with Liverpool Street to half two from Wednesday to Saturday. Rooms come with a Thirsty button that sends cocktails and pizza straight in, which is the part people remember. They also run discount codes seasonally, so it is worth looking before you pay full price.

The one with no room fee

BAO KTV

Four karaoke rooms in the basements of a Taiwanese restaurant group, priced in a way nobody else here uses.

BAO KTV

Address
Six rooms at five sites: two in Bloomberg Arcade in the City, and one each at Borough Market, Marylebone, Shoreditch and Battersea Power Station
Nearest
London Bridge, Bank, Baker Street or Shoreditch High Street
Booking
Online, per room
Price
No room hire fee. A 35 pound per person spend on food and drink across a two hour slot, minimum two people, and Thursday to Saturday the rooms go to groups of four or fewer
Standing
Over 300,000 music videos, in rooms attached to the BAO restaurants

The pricing is the point. There is no room charge at all, only a minimum spend of thirty five pounds a head on food and drink inside your two hours, which means the money buys dinner rather than a booth. If you were going to eat anyway it is the cheapest option on this page. If you only want to sing, it is the most expensive. The City site in Bloomberg Arcade is the flagship and has two rooms, one with a wraparound screen. Borough Market was the first. Marylebone is the romantic one, a basement built after In The Mood For Love, with red curtains and neon. Shoreditch sits under the noodle shop. The newest is the Control Room at Battersea Power Station, built after the 1950s modernism of Jacques Tati’s Playtime, and it takes ten. Order the KTV set menu ahead if you would rather sing than read a menu.

The biggest one

BAM Karaoke Box, Victoria

Twenty two rooms in one building, and the only venue here that publishes its rules in more detail than its prices.

BAM Karaoke Box

Address
74 Victoria Street, SW1E 6SQ
Nearest
Victoria, three minutes. St James’s Park, five
Hours
Monday to Wednesday 2.30pm to 12.30am. Thursday and Friday 2.30pm to 1.30am. Saturday midday to 1.30am. Sunday midday to 9pm
Booking
Online. booking@bam-karaokebox.com, or 0203 740 2205 for the sales team
Standing
Describes itself as Europe’s largest premium karaoke venue: 22 private rooms, 45,000 songs, and space for 450 people across the building

No price is published anywhere on the site, which is the one thing it will not tell you. Everything else it tells you in unusual detail. Rooms take 2 to 40 people and have in room recording and free social games. Under 18 bookings are taken only between 3pm and 6pm Monday to Friday and midday to 6pm on Sunday, and never on a Saturday. Under 16s need a responsible adult with them, one adult per five of them, and the venue is not suitable below the age of five at all. They run Challenge 25, so bring ID. You may bring your own cake if you say so in advance, because a waiver has to be signed. Their own pages disagree about the open mic nights, one saying Thursday to Saturday and another Wednesday to Saturday, so check the listing for the week you want.

How to read a karaoke price

The cheap number is always the small room. Five pounds a head at Simmons buys a booth for five or six people. It is not the price of the twenty five person room in Soho. Every chain quotes from its smallest space.

A minimum spend is not a room charge. BAO KTV charge nothing for the room and thirty five pounds a head for what you eat and drink in it. That is the highest headline number on this page and the best value on it if you were going to have dinner anyway.

Per person means per person booked, not per person singing. A room priced by the hour for up to twenty people is a different commitment from a booth for five. Count the group before you compare.

Monday and Tuesday are the problem, not the weekend. Three of the five Lucky Voice venues are shut at the start of the week, Holborn on Sunday as well, and Islington does not open until Thursday. BAM runs seven days. Simmons keep several rooms open all week. A Monday singalong needs checking, a Friday one does not.

Late means later than a pub. Lucky Voice Holborn runs to three in the morning from Thursday to Saturday and Liverpool Street to half past two from Wednesday, BAM to half past one on a Thursday. These are among the latest legal rooms in the city, which is most of why they exist.

Everything here was taken from each venue’s own published information and rechecked on 28 September 2026. Where a venue publishes no price, that is said rather than estimated, and where two of its own pages disagree, both are given. Confirm before you book.

Where to go next

Activity bars is the wider category this belongs to, and the best bars in London covers the rooms where the entertainment is the drink.

London after dark sets out what is open once the kitchens stop, and the clubs pick up after the last karaoke room closes.

The pub quiz is the one night out on this site that costs nothing at all, because the pub pays for it: 120 pounds a week to the quiz company, and the 50 pound prize out of its own till.

The comedy clubs are priced by the same trick in a different shape: not four models, but one bill that costs 7.50 pounds on a Thursday and up to 24 on a Saturday.

By neighbourhood: Soho, which holds more of these rooms than anywhere else, and Shoreditch. Poland Street holds both Lucky Voice and the Soho chip shop in the fish and chips guide, which makes one short street a whole evening.

Questions we get asked

How much does karaoke cost in London?

It depends what you are being charged for. Simmons Bar publish pricing from 5 pounds per person at their smallest rooms, Old Street and Leicester Square. Lucky Voice start at 6 pounds per person per hour at Islington and 8 elsewhere, with a two hour minimum booking. BAO KTV charge no room fee at all but ask for a 35 pound per person spend on food and drink across a two hour slot. BAM Karaoke Box publish no price.

How much does karaoke in Soho cost?

Simmons Bar have two Soho rooms, a 1970s flat for twenty five people and a games room for fifteen, with their pricing starting at 5 pounds per person across the group. Where can you do karaoke late at night in London?

Lucky Voice at Holborn runs to three in the morning from Thursday to Saturday, which is the latest published here, and Liverpool Street to half past two from Wednesday to Saturday. Simmons keep late rooms at Old Street and Leicester Square.

Is there karaoke in London on a Monday?

Less than you would expect. Lucky Voice close Holborn and Waterloo on Mondays and Islington does not open until Thursday, leaving Soho and Liverpool Street. Check the specific venue rather than the brand.

Can you do karaoke in London without hiring a room?

BAO KTV is the one built that way. There is no room hire fee across its five sites at Borough Market, Bloomberg Arcade, Marylebone, Shoreditch and Battersea Power Station. Instead you commit to spending 35 pounds per person on food and drink inside a two hour slot, which turns the evening into dinner with singing rather than a booth with a bar tab.

Can under 18s go to karaoke in London?

At BAM Karaoke Box in Victoria, yes, within set hours: under 18 bookings are taken from 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday and from midday to 6pm on Sunday, but never on a Saturday. Under 16s must have a responsible adult with them, one per five children, and under fives are not admitted at all. Lucky Voice also run kids karaoke parties as a booked package.
