Prison Island has two London sites, and only one is open. The Islington game on Hornsey Street is running now, and a second one at Westfield London is listed as opening “from December 2026”. They aren’t copies of each other: the operator says each has completely different challenge rooms, and the counts differ too, at 31 cells in Islington and 35 at Westfield. So if you’ve played one, the other is still new.
We read the operator’s own venue pages on 10 October. Neither shows a price or opening hours, because both are set when you choose a date in the ticket selector on Fever. The Time Out listing quotes a starting price of £26.78, but we couldn’t confirm it from the operator.
How the game works
Teams of two to five play for 60 to 120 minutes, which is excluding arrival. Each cell has a challenge worth 25 to 100 points, and some have three difficulty levels. Up to 29 teams can play at once, and a group bigger than five is split into several teams. The operator recommends teams of three or more. A pair can play, but some challenges are harder for two and the top score isn’t always reachable. At Westfield, live rankings are shown on screens in the reception and game areas.
Who can play
The minimum age is 7, and under-7s can’t play or come along as spectators. A team without any adults must be at least 14. A group of 20 or more has to book through the groups page rather than the normal ticket link.
The small print that catches people out
Arrive 20 minutes before your slot for the briefing. Late entry isn’t permitted. Tickets are contactless, transferable for free through Fever, and can be moved to a new date up to 24 hours before. Refunds are “not permitted under any circumstances”, which is a stricter line than most London attractions take.
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, because there’s light physical activity. High heels aren’t allowed. Lockers hold jackets, phones and valuables, but there’s no coat check, and the venue isn’t responsible for lost or damaged items. Smoking and vaping are banned. Phone photos and short videos are fine if they don’t disrupt others, and professional equipment needs approval first. There’s no air conditioning, no merchandise and no audio guide, and a bar sells alcoholic and soft drinks.
Access
The operator says both venues are wheelchair accessible, but that the layout and nature of some challenges make the game unsuitable for people with mobility impairments. It also says the experience can’t be accommodated for deaf or visually impaired guests. Pets are banned, and that includes service dogs, which is unusual enough to check before you book if you rely on one. A guest who needs a carer can apply for one free carer ticket by contacting the team with proof of need. Pregnant guests should talk to staff on arrival. There’s seating for breaks, there are no strobe lights, and the Islington page says not to come by car because there’s no parking.
Where the pages disagree
The Islington page gives the address as 5 to 7 Hornsey Street, N7 8GA, but its FAQ gives 4 to 7 Hornsey Street, N7 8HE. Use the booking confirmation as your guide. The Islington page also mentions a Horror Story event from 16 October, when the island is haunted after 7pm on selected weekends.
