There is no allocated seating at Lightroom, and the venue says it cannot guarantee you a seat at all. The space is a mix of seated and standing, so if standing for an hour is a problem, arrive at the start of your slot rather than drifting in halfway through.
The show runs on a continuous loop, which is the other thing to understand. The Bowie show is about 64 minutes a loop, and your ticket is a timed entry rather than a start time, so turning up late means joining mid-story and waiting for it to come round.
Everything below comes from Lightroom’s own pages, read on 10 October 2026.
What is on
David Bowie: You’re Not Alone runs until 10 January 2027. Larger Than Life, starring Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, opens on 14 October 2026. Matisse: Joy follows from 27 January to 8 May 2027. It is at 12 Lewis Cubitt Square in King’s Cross, N1C 4DY.
Prices, and the discounts that are easy to miss
Standard tickets start at £25 and are dynamically priced, so the figure moves with demand. Under-18s get £10 off. An access concession starts at £15 for anyone with an access requirement, and comes with a free companion ticket. Art Pass members get 50 per cent off both the standard and concession rates, groups of 10 or more get £10 off each ticket, and there is a 15 per cent family discount at selected times. Booking by phone adds £3 per transaction, so book online.
Prams cannot go in
Prams are welcome at the venue but not inside the show space. There is a designated area in the main foyer for prams and buggies. Under-16s need an adult with them.
Bags are searched on arrival. The cloakroom is free and takes jackets, coats and rucksacks, but larger items cannot be guaranteed a space and are not allowed inside the show.
Photography, food and late arrivals
Personal photos and short videos are allowed, without flash. Tripods and flash are banned, and professional photography or filming needs written consent in advance. Drinks and snacks bought at Lightroom can be taken into the show.
Late entry is at the duty manager’s discretion, and the venue recommends arriving at least 15 minutes before the time on your ticket. The doors open 15 minutes before the first slot of the day.
Exchanges, not refunds
You can exchange a ticket for another slot on the same or a different date, or for a credit voucher, subject to availability, but you have to ask at least two hours before your slot begins, by email. Once the slot has passed, nothing can be changed. Refunds are offered only if a performance is cancelled or abandoned.
Access
There is level access throughout with lifts to all floors. Up to two wheelchair user bookings are taken per entry slot, which is worth knowing if you are booking for a group. All performances carry captions as subtitles at the top of the screen, so the shows are captioned by default rather than on selected dates.
