Go Karting in London: Prices, Minimums and Height Rules

TeamSport publishes no price on any of its six London track pages, its Docklands track is in Charlton, and every private event at Revolution Karting needs eight drivers.

Go karts lined up on the grid before a race

The largest karting operator in London will not tell you what it charges. TeamSport runs six tracks in and around the capital, and not one of its track pages publishes a price. You pick a venue, pick a date, and the number appears at the end. That is the single most useful thing to know before you start comparing.

The second is that one of those tracks is not where its name says. TeamSport Docklands is in Charlton, SE7, next to the Thames Barrier, and the nearest Underground station is a 30 minute walk away.

What it actually costs, where anyone says

Revolution Karting in Mile End publishes everything, so it is the only London price on this page that can be quoted with confidence.

An open session is 5 races for 50 pounds, each race eight laps, 40 laps in total, with all booking and race fees included in that number. That is the way in for one or two people, and it is the cheapest honest figure in London karting.

The private events are priced per driver and need a group:

Mini Grand Prix and Mini Endurance are 65 pounds a driver and include an hour of private track hire. Mini Grand Prix is practice laps, three qualifying heats and a final. Mini Endurance is two timed team races.

Full Grand Prix and Full Endurance are 75 pounds a driver and include an hour and a half. Full Grand Prix runs six qualifying heats and a final, and Full Endurance three races.

Two things are not in those prices. A fee of 3.50 pounds a person for booking, balaclava and gloves is added at checkout, and the quoted track time assumes a group of 16, so a bigger group needs more time and more money.

The minimum group, which rules most people out

Every private event at Revolution Karting needs at least eight drivers. Mini and Full Grand Prix, Mini and Full Endurance, all of them start at eight. Online booking runs up to 16 drivers, and anything larger goes through the sales team by email.

If there are two of you, the open session at 50 pounds is the booking, not the Grand Prix.

The height rule, and what the age rule really says

Karting is where groups get turned away at the desk, and the rule here is not the one people expect.

Revolution Karting has no age limit. It has a height restriction of 5 feet 1 inch, or 1.55 metres. That is the test, and it is worth measuring a teenager against it before you book rather than after you arrive.

Age still appears twice. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian present to sign the disclaimer, even if that adult does not race. And the private Grand Prix and Endurance events do require drivers to be over 18, which is why the pricing page says over 18 while the FAQ says there is no age limit. Both are true of different products. For a mixed age group the answer is the open fun hour, which takes all ages above the height line.

Everyone must arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled time for the safety briefing. That is not a suggestion in this sport.

At TeamSport the published minimum for go karting at Docklands is 8 years old. The mini golf on the same site is described as 5 and over in one place on that page and 6 and over in another, so ask if a five year old is the reason you are going.

The discount codes, and the one that is printed wrong

Both operators run a code.

TeamSport: GET10 for 10 per cent off online bookings, printed across the top of its London page.

Revolution Karting: 5 pounds off every driver in the group on a Friday or a Sunday. Here is the trap. The headings on its offers page print the code as 50FF, with a zero. The explanatory text underneath prints it as 5OFF, with a letter O, and tells you to use capitals. The second one is the code. Typing the version in the heading will not work.

Where the tracks are

Revolution Karting is at 422 to 424 Burdett Road, Mile End, E3 4AA. Ten minutes’ walk from Mile End on the Central line, seven minutes from Limehouse on the DLR. It is outdoor and electric, with karts reaching 40mph, and it is the most central track in London.

TeamSport has six: Acton, a 500 metre multi-level electric circuit with banked corners. Brent Cross, which also has ten pin bowling, pool and arcade games. Docklands, 800 metres and 45mph. Edmonton, 800 metres over two levels with nine corners and an average lap of 45 seconds. Mitcham, 800 metres with nine corners and a flyover. And Watford.

On Docklands, read the address before you plan the journey. It is at 3 Herringham Road, SE7 8NJ, in Charlton, between Greenwich and Woolwich on the south side of the river. Charlton and Woolwich Dockyard stations are each within a 30 minute walk, and so is North Greenwich, the nearest Tube. The operator recommends public transport because of the traffic, and there is free parking outside. It is still the closest TeamSport track to Canary Wharf, which tells you something about the others.

Capital Karts, which no longer lists a London track

Capital Karts ran what was billed as the longest indoor circuit in the country, at Barking. Checked on 5 October 2026, capitalkarts.com opens on its Birmingham track at Star City, lists no London venue anywhere on the site, and returns a 404 for its Barking address.

We are noting it rather than dropping it, because it is the name people still search for and the answer is that the London track is not on the operator’s site any more.

How to choose

Two of you, no group: Revolution Karting’s open session, 5 races for 50 pounds.

Eight or more and you want a proper race format: Revolution’s Mini Grand Prix at 65 pounds a driver, or the Full at 75 if you want 90 minutes.

Children under 18 in the group: Revolution’s open sessions, with an adult present to sign, and everyone over 5 feet 1.

You want the longest track: any of the TeamSport 800 metre circuits, accepting that you will not see a price until you have chosen a date.

For the rest of the category, the activity bars cover what is bookable by the hour nearer the middle of town, and the adult activities page covers the wider list.

Questions we get asked

How much is go karting in London?

Revolution Karting in Mile End is 50 pounds for an open session of five eight lap races, with fees included, and 65 to 75 pounds a driver for private events plus 3.50 pounds a head at checkout. TeamSport, which runs six London tracks, publishes no price on any of its track pages: you have to choose a date first.

Can you go karting in London as a couple?

Yes, but only through an open session. Every private event at Revolution Karting needs a minimum of eight drivers, so a pair books the 50 pound open session instead, which is five races of eight laps each.

What is the height restriction for go karting in London?

At Revolution Karting it is 5 feet 1 inch, or 1.55 metres, and it applies to everyone. The venue says there is no age limit as such, though under 18s need a parent or guardian present to sign the disclaimer, and the private Grand Prix and Endurance events are over 18 only.

Where is TeamSport Docklands?

In Charlton, at 3 Herringham Road, SE7 8NJ, next to the Thames Barrier on the south side of the river, rather than in Docklands. Charlton, Woolwich Dockyard and North Greenwich are each about a 30 minute walk, and there is free parking outside.

Is Capital Karts in Barking still open?

Its own website no longer says so. Checked on 5 October 2026, capitalkarts.com opens on its Birmingham track at Star City, lists no London venue anywhere, and returns a 404 for the Barking page.

Is there a discount code for go karting in London?

TeamSport prints GET10 for 10 per cent off online bookings across its London page. Revolution Karting gives 5 pounds off every driver on a Friday or Sunday, and the code is 5OFF with a letter O, although the headings on its own offers page print it as 50FF with a zero.
