The Book of Mormon advertises last-minute tickets for the next four weeks from £23, which is the cheapest published seat at any of London’s big musicals that does not involve a lottery.
It is also the only one of them recommended for ages 14 and over, which is the other thing to know before booking it as a family outing. It is a satire with explicit language and the production says so plainly.
£23, and the £2 that goes on top
Last-minute tickets for the next four weeks, from £23.
Against the rest of the West End: The Lion King and Wicked both run £29.50 releases, Mamma Mia charges £30 for a day ticket, and only Hamilton’s £10 lottery is cheaper, and that needs luck.
There is a booking fee and it applies everywhere: £2 per ticket, on online, phone and in-person bookings at the Prince of Wales box office.
Note the difference from Mamma Mia at the same company’s Novello Theatre, where buying in person at the box office is the one fee-free route. Here the counter charges the same £2 as the website.
There are also rotating offers on their own site, including a two-for-one date night and, when we looked, a £58.50 seat reduced to £32.50.
Their own site disagrees about how long it is
Worth flagging because it is ten minutes, and ten minutes decides a train.
The show information on the homepage says 2 hours 30 minutes including interval.
The FAQ page on the same site says approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, including one interval.
Both were live on 5 October 2026. Plan for 2 hours 30 and you will not be caught out either way, so a 7.30pm start should see you out by about 10pm.
The matinee is on Friday
Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees at 2.30pm on Friday and Saturday.
That is a fourth different midweek matinee day across the big musicals. The Lion King and Wicked use Wednesday, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia and Moulin Rouge use Thursday, and this one uses Friday.
There is no Sunday performance. It does run on Monday, which Wicked and The Lion King do not.
Captioning and audio description at every performance
This is the genuinely unusual thing about this production and it is buried in an accessibility FAQ.
GalaPro is available for all performances of The Book of Mormon. It is a mobile app that delivers closed captioning and audio description through your own phone.
Almost every other West End show offers a handful of captioned dates a year and nothing in between. Here it is every night, on your own device, with no need to pick a special performance.
The scheduled captioned performance is a separate thing and the next one is Saturday 7 November 2026 at 2.30pm.
Assisted listening devices are available, and the box office asks to be contacted in advance for them. The access department is on 0344 482 5137.
The age rules
Suitable for ages 14 and over. It contains strong language, adult themes, strobe lighting and loud bangs.
Under 3s will not be admitted.
Under 16s must be accompanied and seated next to an adult of 18 or over.
Everyone must have their own ticket.
Their own wording on children is fair and unusually direct: the show contains explicit language, and they invite each family to choose what is suitable. The 14 rating is guidance rather than a door policy, and the hard limits are the under-3 ban and the seating rule.
Exchanges
Tickets are non-refundable. Exchanges are possible up to 48 hours before your performance.
Which matches Moulin Rouge’s 48 hour rule and is the standard across the big shows. Inside two days, the ticket is what it is.
Groups of 10 or more get exclusive rates through the group bookings team.
Where it is, and the box office worth knowing about
Prince of Wales Theatre, Coventry Street, London W1D 6AS. Box office 0344 482 5151. Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square are both a short walk.
It is a Delfont Mackintosh theatre, which means the Central Box Office at the Sondheim Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, open Monday to Saturday midday to 6pm, sells tickets for this show too, along with the other seven in the group. That is the only daytime in-person counter, and most people do not know it covers eight theatres.
There is a cloakroom at the Prince of Wales. Parking and transport details sit on the Delfont Mackintosh site rather than the show’s.
Written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park with Robert Lopez of Avenue Q and Frozen.

Last-minute seats from 23 pounds make this the cheapest big musical outside Hamilton’s lottery. GalaPro gives closed captioning and audio description on your own phone at every performance, not just scheduled dates. Recommended for ages 14 and over, with under 3s barred and under 16s seated next to an adult. The site gives two different running times.
Where to go next
Les Misérables is the other Delfont Mackintosh show and explains the Central Box Office in full.
The Lion King and Wicked both run £29.50 releases, and the West End page covers the rest.
