The Producers has closed at the Garrick Theatre. Its final performance was on Saturday 19 September 2026, and the theatre’s ticket listing now marks the show “Closed”.

The run lasted just over a year, from 30 August 2025 to 19 September 2026, and it was a transfer: the production first sold out at the Menier Chocolate Factory before moving to the West End.

The listing carried its own countdown in the final weeks, calling it “your last chance to catch the West End’s biggest comedy” and urging people not to miss it “before it closes on 19 September.” Older articles that give a February 2026 end date are out of date, because the run was extended.

What it was

The first major London revival of Mel Brooks’ musical, based on his cult film, reimagined by Patrick Marber, who directed.

The principal cast named on the final listing were Andy Nyman, Marc Antolin, Trevor Ashley, Raj Ghatak, Harry Morrison and Joanna Woodward. Nyman was absent for a stretch and returned in May, a good example of the cast changes that make it worth checking a performance before travelling for a particular name.

The original Broadway production won a record twelve Tony Awards. The West End revival was reviewed with five stars in several newspapers, and The Times called it “the show we need right now.”

Practical details that stayed constant: running time of 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval, with age guidance of 13 and over.

The Garrick Theatre

Garrick Theatre, 2 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0HH, beside Leicester Square. It is one of the older West End houses and sits at the end of Charing Cross Road, which puts it close to the London Coliseum.

We have not checked what is playing at the Garrick now, so look at the theatre’s own listing rather than assuming.

If you want a comedy musical now

The nearest equivalents currently running include Cabaret, which is in its fifth year, and the London Palladium, where the Christmas pantomime Cinderella opens on 5 December. For a comedy at a lower price, see cheap theatre tickets for the lotteries and day seats.

The closure of The Producers follows Hercules, which closed on 5 September, and Starlight Express, which closed in May. Three large musicals have left the West End inside five months.
