Disney’s Hercules has closed. Its final West End performance was on Saturday 5 September 2026 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
If you are searching for tickets, there are none to buy. The show ran from summer 2025 through a series of extensions, and 5 September 2026 was the last of them.
The confusion is understandable, because the show’s own page is still live on the LW Theatres website at the time of writing, still carrying its performance schedule and its ticket prices. The only clue on it is the line “Booking until Saturday 5th September 2026”, a date now in the past.
The reliable test is the venue’s current listings, and Hercules is not on them.
What is on at Drury Lane instead
The Theatre Royal Drury Lane has moved on to a new programme:
Jesus Christ Superstar: Friday 16 October 2026 to Saturday 9 January 2027.
The Greatest Showman: Spring 2027.
So if you had Hercules in mind as a family musical at this address, The Greatest Showman is the production the theatre is pointing families towards next, with Jesus Christ Superstar filling the autumn and Christmas.
Note that the theatre’s own “about” text still describes it as “home to popular West End productions including Disney’s Hercules the musical”, which is simply stale copy rather than a sign the show is returning. Trust the What’s On page over the marketing prose.
What it was, for the record
Worth keeping straight, because a good deal of secondhand information about this production is still circulating.
Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music and lyrics by Alan Menken and David Zippel, a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott.
The run: summer 2025 to 5 September 2026 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Performance schedule while it ran: Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm, with matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 2:30pm.
Running time: 2 hours 10 minutes including a 20 minute interval.
Tickets started at £25 with no booking fees when bought direct, including a £1.70 restoration levy on every ticket.
The age rules were stricter than the recommendation suggested. Recommended 6 and over, but: “We aren’t able to admit any children under the age of 4 and every customer must have their own ticket. To help us make sure everyone enjoys the show, your little ones need to be able to sit in their own seat without any assistance.”
That last clause is the one families miss, and it applies across LW Theatres productions: a child who needs to sit on a lap does not qualify, whatever their age.
Content warnings were flashing lights, haze, video projection and loud sound effects.
Magical Mondays, which is still running
The most useful thing to carry forward from this show, because the scheme continues across LW Theatres productions.
For Hercules it worked like this: “Magical Mondays offers the chance for you to purchase tickets for £29.50. Every Monday at noon, a number of tickets to that week’s performances will be available.”
So Monday at midday, a batch of cheap seats for that week goes on sale. It is the LW Theatres equivalent of a day-seat release, and it applies to their current shows at the Palladium, Drury Lane and the rest.
One warning that is easy to miss, and it caught people on this show too: Magical Monday tickets, like groups, lottery and day seats, are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. You cannot move them at all, not even for the usual £3 exchange fee. Full detail on our cheap theatre tickets page.
The family and VIP pricing, as it stood
Useful as a benchmark for what the next production at this address is likely to charge.
Family packages, for selected performances, at a total price rather than per head:
Family of 4: £280, £220 or £160.
Family of 5: £350, £275 or £200.
Family of 6: £420, £330 or £240.
At the cheapest band, a family of six came to £240, or £40 a head, against a from-price of £25. The three tiers reflected seat location.
VIP packages, on top of the ticket price rather than including it:
The Hercules Experience: £55 per person, or £82 with Champagne.
The Heroes Box: £62 per person.
The Muses Box: £75 per person.
The Olympus Lounge: £140 per person.
And one access point worth remembering for any show at this theatre, because it is a structural feature of the building rather than of the production:
“Step-free access is available with the Hercules Experience and the Olympus Lounge. Regrettably, access to the theatre’s boxes is not step-free.”
The boxes at Drury Lane are not step-free. If you book a box package at any production here, expect stairs, as at the Palladium, where the boxes run 12 to 27 steps up before going back down again.
Where the theatre is
Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Catherine Street, Covent Garden, London WC2B 5JF.
It bills itself as the world’s oldest theatre, open since 1663, and it is open daily as a destination in its own right rather than only on show nights. That part has not changed with the production.
Inside, without a ticket to anything, there is the Grand Saloon for the Showstopping Afternoon Tea, the Cecil Beaton Bar for cocktails by Tristan Stephenson, the Rotunda bar with a ceiling modelled on the Pantheon, and theatre tours. Pre-theatre dining runs as a three course meal.
So a trip planned around Hercules is not entirely wasted: the building is the attraction, and you can walk into most of it.

How to get in
Closed. The final West End performance was on Saturday 5 September 2026 after a run beginning in summer 2025, though the show’s page remained live on the LW Theatres site afterwards, carrying the stale line that booking ran until that date. The venue’s own about text also still names the show. Theatre Royal Drury Lane now presents Jesus Christ Superstar and then The Greatest Showman. Magical Mondays, which released 29.50 pound tickets every Monday at noon, continues across LW Theatres productions, but those tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Children at LW Theatres shows must be able to sit unaided in their own seat, and no child under 4 is admitted.
Where to go next
The best West End shows covers what is actually on, and cheap theatre tickets covers the lotteries and day seats.
The London Palladium and the London Coliseum have the published access detail, and pre-theatre dinner covers eating in Covent Garden.
Questions we get asked
Is Disney's Hercules still on in London?
No. The final West End performance was on Saturday 5 September 2026 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, after a run that began in summer 2025. There are no tickets available. The show's page remains live on the LW Theatres website with its old schedule, which is why people still find it, but the only indication is the line saying booking ran until 5 September 2026.
What is on at Theatre Royal Drury Lane now?
Jesus Christ Superstar runs from Friday 16 October 2026 to Saturday 9 January 2027, followed by The Greatest Showman in spring 2027. The theatre's own about text still mentions Disney's Hercules, but that is stale copy rather than a sign of a return, so check the What's On listing.
How long was Disney's Hercules in London?
It ran at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from summer 2025 until Saturday 5 September 2026, through a series of extensions. Performances were Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2:30pm, and the running time was 2 hours 10 minutes including a 20 minute interval.
What are Magical Mondays at LW Theatres?
A weekly cheap-ticket release. Every Monday at noon a number of tickets for that week's performances go on sale at a reduced price, which for Hercules was £29.50. The scheme continues across LW Theatres productions. The important catch is that Magical Monday tickets, along with group, lottery and day seat tickets, are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, so they cannot be moved even for the usual £3 exchange fee.
Can young children go to shows at Theatre Royal Drury Lane?
With two conditions that catch families out. No child under the age of 4 is admitted, every customer must have their own ticket, and children need to be able to sit in their own seat without any assistance. A child who would need to sit on a lap does not qualify regardless of age.
Are the boxes at Theatre Royal Drury Lane step-free?
No. The theatre states plainly that access to its boxes is not step-free, while step-free access was available with the ground-level hospitality packages. It is a feature of the listed building rather than of any particular production, so the same applies to box seats at whatever is playing.
Can you visit Theatre Royal Drury Lane without seeing a show?
Yes, and it is open daily. The Grand Saloon serves the Showstopping Afternoon Tea, the Cecil Beaton Bar does cocktails, the Rotunda bar has a ceiling modelled on the Pantheon in Rome, and theatre tours run of what the venue calls the world's oldest theatre, open since 1663. Pre-theatre dining is also available as a three course meal.
