MJ the Musical has closed in London. The final performance at the Prince Edward Theatre was on 28 February 2026, ending a run that began on 6 March 2024. Beetlejuice took over the theatre from May 2026, with Dirty Dancing and a new staging of Miss Saigon listed after it, so there is nothing to book at that address.

Where it went instead

The producers announced the closure as a final extension rather than an abrupt end, and paired it with two touring plans. An international Asian tour was announced to launch in October 2026 for an initial two year period, and a UK tour was announced for 2027.

Neither had a published itinerary when we looked. The announcement said UK and Asian tour details would follow in the coming months, and we found no confirmed cities, venues or dates for either. If you are waiting for a UK date, that is the thing to watch rather than any London listing.

What ticket sites still say

Several sellers continue to show London booking periods, and they do not agree with each other. One lists booking to 28 March 2026, another gives a closing date of 28 February 2026, and older pages still show periods ending in September 2025 and December 2024. The 28 February 2026 date is the one the producers and the trade press confirmed.

If you find a page offering London tickets, treat it with suspicion rather than excitement.

What the run was

Two years at the Prince Edward, running about 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval, recommended for ages 8 and over. The theatre required everyone to hold a ticket regardless of age, and anyone under 16 to sit next to a ticketholder aged 18 or over. Sources disagreed on the youngest age admitted, giving either under 3 or under 4, a discrepancy that no longer matters in London but will reappear on tour.
