Honest Burgers: A Different Burger at Every Branch

Every branch has its own local special and a beer from a nearby brewery. The burgers come pink by default.

A hamburger and chips served in a basket

Every Honest Burgers serves a burger you cannot get at the others, and a beer brewed near it.

Each restaurant has its own local special, created with small independent producers to reflect its neighbourhood, and every branch serves at least one beer from a nearby brewery.

So “which Honest should I go to” has a real answer rather than a nearest-one answer, and their own site has a “your local menu” page for exactly this. Nobody aggregates the local burgers, and they are the reason to cross London for one branch over another.

The burgers come pink

Worth knowing before it arrives, because it is a deliberate choice and not a mistake.

Honest make their burgers from scratch in their own butchery, and serve them pink so they eat more like a steak.

Most chains cook a burger through. This one does not, and says so plainly. If you want it well done you need to ask.

The chips are the other half of the method: British potatoes bought from local farmers, double-cooked and rosemary salted, always fresh and never frozen.

National Burger of the Year, first time entering

Honest won National Burger of the Year 2026 at the National Burger Awards, in their first year of entering, and in their fifteenth anniversary year.

Winning on a first entry is the detail worth having, and it lands at the same time as the anniversary.

Two things on the menu right now

Chilli con Carnage, available 6 October to 2 November. A Halloween special made with Heinz, described as being for those who dare. Four weeks only.

Honest Mighties. Their biggest hits served slider-sized, available as a solo, a duo or a trio.

The Mighties format is the useful one: it is the way to try three different burgers in one sitting rather than committing to a single full-size one, which given the local-special system is exactly what you want.

Whether you can book depends on the branch

Honest are unusually direct about this.

Not all restaurants take bookings, and some are only bookable for certain table sizes. Walk-ins are always welcome.

So a reservation is not a given, and the answer changes by site and by how many of you there are. Their locations page has an Accepts bookings filter, which is the quickest way to find out.

Four filters, and one honest definition

The locations page filters by outside seating, accepts bookings, step-free access and dog-friendly.

The accessibility wording is better than most chains manage, because it defines what it means rather than claiming a label: wheelchair accessible from the street to your table, either by direct or ramp access, as well as to an accessible toilet on the same floor.

Street to table to toilet, all on one level. That is a real standard, and because it is a filter, only some branches meet it.

The rewards app

Honest Insiders is the loyalty app: free food, exclusive offers and news in return for visiting.

Unlike Ole & Steen, Honest do not publish the points arithmetic, so what it is worth is harder to judge before you join.

Where they are

Across London, plus Bristol, Cambridge and Reading. All branches offer eat in, takeaway, Click and Collect or delivery, though which of those applies varies by site.

How to plan it

Check your branch’s local menu first, because the local burger and the local beer change by neighbourhood.

Trying several: order Mighties as a trio.

Before 2 November: the Chilli con Carnage, made with Heinz.

Want it cooked through: say so, because pink is the default.

Want to book: use the Accepts bookings filter, since not every branch takes them and some only for certain table sizes.

Need step-free access: use that filter, which guarantees street to table to toilet on one level.

Walk-ins are always welcome at every branch.

National Burger of the Year 2026, won on a first entry, in the chain’s fifteenth year

Every branch has its own local special created with independent producers, and every branch serves at least one beer from a nearby brewery, so the menu changes by neighbourhood. Burgers are served pink by default, made in their own butchery. The Chilli con Carnage special with Heinz runs 6 October to 2 November 2026.

Where to go next

The burger page compares the rest, and Flat Iron is the cheap-steak equivalent.

Cheap eats covers the rest under twenty pounds, and Pizza Pilgrims is the other chain where the branch changes the deal.

Questions we get asked

Are Honest Burgers served pink?

Yes, by default. Honest make their burgers from scratch in their own butchery and serve them pink so they eat more like a steak. If you want one cooked through, ask when you order.

Does every Honest Burgers have a different menu?

Yes, in part. Each restaurant has its own local special created with small independent producers to reflect its neighbourhood, and every branch serves at least one beer from a nearby brewery. Their site has a 'your local menu' page for checking yours.

Can you book Honest Burgers?

Sometimes. Not all restaurants take bookings, and some are only bookable for certain table sizes. Walk-ins are always welcome, and their locations page has an Accepts bookings filter to check your branch.

What is the Honest Burgers Halloween special?

Chilli con Carnage, made in collaboration with Heinz and available from 6 October to 2 November 2026. It is described as being for those who dare.

What are Honest Mighties?

Their biggest hits served slider-sized, available as a solo, duo or trio. The trio is the way to try three different burgers in one sitting, which suits a chain where each branch has its own local special.

Are Honest Burgers wheelchair accessible?

Some branches are, and the definition is specific: wheelchair accessible from the street to your table via direct or ramp access, and to an accessible toilet on the same floor. Use the step-free access filter on their locations page, because not all sites qualify.

Has Honest Burgers won any awards?

Yes, National Burger of the Year 2026 at the National Burger Awards, won in their first year of entering and coinciding with the chain's fifteenth anniversary.
