Heaven London: Open to 14s, and Nobody Agrees on the Hours

Gigs admit 14-year-olds with an adult, and start at 6pm. Three listing sites give three different sets of club hours.

Heaven admits fourteen year olds. Not to the club nights, to the gigs, and it says so on the ticket page.

“Open to 14s and over. Under 16s to be accompanied by an adult 18+. Photo ID required.”

That is the published age policy on its current live shows. For a venue whose reputation is as a late-night superclub, being legally able to take a fourteen year old to a concert there is the single most surprising thing about it.

Its own website is now a live music venue

Worth understanding before you go looking for club listings, because you will not find them on the front page.

Heaven’s own site describes it as a Live Music and Club Venue, and the homepage is entirely gig listings. The navigation runs Home, Gig Listings, Galleries, About, Virtual Tour and Contact. There is no club night calendar on it.

So the building has two lives. The gigs are what the venue publishes; the club nights are what it is famous for, and they are promoted elsewhere.

The gigs start at six

Almost every show on the current programme has a 6pm start, with a few at 5.30pm, 6.30pm or 7pm.

That is unusually early for a live venue, and it is the mechanism that lets the building do both things: the concert finishes and the club night takes over the same room.

If you are coming for a gig, note that 6pm doors means arriving straight from work, and that the night is over earlier than a normal London show.

What is booked

The range is much broader than the venue’s reputation suggests. From the current listings:

Friday 9 October: DeVotchKa with Sons of Town Hall.

Wednesday 14 October: Arab Strap, 7pm.

Saturday 17 October: Starjunk 95 with Piri.

Tuesday 20 October: Autumn!

Saturday 24 October: Sports.

Friday 30 October: Chloe Qisha, 6.30pm.

Saturday 31 October: The Fourth Choir, The Gloaming Between Worlds.

Saturday 7 November: Noname with Georgia Anne Muldrow, Cleo Reed and Kaicrewsade, 5.30pm.

Thursday 12 November: All (H)ours, Rise Up, their first world tour.

Friday 13 November: Hatsune Miku, Digital Stars Miku Expo 2026.

Friday 20 November: Tropical Fuck Storm.

Friday 4 December: Young Knives with Hot Face.

Booking runs well ahead: Gilla Band on 11 February 2027, Drama on 27 February 2027 and Erika Vikman on 13 March 2027.

A Hatsune Miku show and a chamber choir in the same month, in a room best known for pop divas, is a fair summary of what the venue now is.

Nobody agrees on the club hours

An honest warning, because this is where the information goes wrong.

Checked on 6 October 2026, three separate listing sites give three different sets of opening hours for Heaven’s club nights: one says Monday to Saturday 21.30 to 04.00, another says Thursday 10pm to 4am with Friday and Saturday 9pm to 4am, and a third says Monday and Wednesday 22.30 to 03.00 with Friday and Saturday 22.30 to 05.00.

They cannot all be right. The venue’s own site does not publish club hours at all.

So do not trust an aggregator for a club night here. Go to the promoter of the specific night, and for a gig use the time on the listing, which is published clearly.

There is a virtual tour

Heaven publishes a Virtual Tour in its own navigation, which is rare for a club and genuinely useful if you want to see the room before buying a ticket, or if you are bringing someone who needs to know what a space looks like first.

There are also photo galleries.

Where it is

Charing Cross Arches, Villiers Street, London WC2N 6NG.

Villiers Street runs down from the Strand to the river beside Charing Cross station, and the venue is in the railway arches underneath it. Charing Cross and Embankment are both within a minute, which makes it one of the best-connected night venues in London.

The venue is home to G-A-Y, owned by Jeremy Joseph, and remains London’s best-known gay club.

How to plan it

Bringing a teenager to a gig: 14 and over, with an adult over 18 for under-16s, and photo ID for everyone.

Gig times: mostly 6pm. Earlier than you expect.

Club night: check the promoter, not a listings site, because three of them give three different answers.

Unsure about the room: watch the virtual tour first.

Getting home: Charing Cross and Embankment are both a minute away.

Gigs are open to 14s and over, with under 16s accompanied by an adult 18 plus and photo ID required for everyone. Three listing sites give three different sets of club opening hours, so check the promoter rather than an aggregator. A virtual tour of the room is published.

Where to go next

Questions we get asked

What is the age limit at Heaven?

For its live gigs, open to 14s and over, with under 16s accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, and photo ID required for everyone. That is the published policy on current shows, which is unusually young for a venue known as a late-night club.

What time do gigs start at Heaven?

Mostly 6pm, with some at 5.30pm, 6.30pm or 7pm, published per event. That early start is what allows the venue to run a concert and then a club night in the same room on the same evening.

What are Heaven's opening hours?

The venue does not publish club night hours on its own site, and checked on 6 October 2026 three separate listing sites gave three different answers, ranging from a 21.30 start to a 22.30 one and a 3am close to a 5am one. Check the promoter of the specific night, or use the published time on a gig listing.

Is Heaven a gay club?

It is home to G-A-Y, owned by Jeremy Joseph, and remains London's best known gay club. Its own website now presents it primarily as a live music and club venue, with the gig programme on the front page and club nights promoted separately.

Where is Heaven nightclub?

Charing Cross Arches on Villiers Street, London WC2N 6NG, in the railway arches beneath the street that runs from the Strand down to the river. Charing Cross and Embankment stations are both within a minute.

Can you see inside Heaven before booking?

Yes, the venue publishes a Virtual Tour in its own navigation, along with photo galleries, which is unusual for a London club.
