Fabric is a nightclub that will turn you away for wearing a suit.
Guests are encouraged to dress as they like, but business suits, flags and glow wear are not permitted. Management reserve the right to refuse anyone whose attire they feel does not suit the night.
Every other door policy in London works the other way round. This one bans the thing most clubs insist on.
Your ID gets scanned, and there is no way round it
18 and over only. All customers must present ID on entry. Strictly no ID, no entry. Your ID will be scanned onto their ID scanning system as a condition of entry.
Accepted: a valid passport, a foreign national ID card, a driving licence, or a Home Office approved PASS hologram. Originals only, no photocopies.
So a photo of your passport on your phone is not enough, and neither is anything outside that list. The scan is not optional.
The entry search is mandatory. Further searches inside the venue or the smoking area are at management’s discretion.
Arriving at the wrong time costs money
The trap that catches people who assume a ticket is a ticket.
All tickets are valid for entry all night, but your arrival time affects how you enter and whether additional fees apply.
Early Entry Tickets require you to arrive by a specified time. Entry After Tickets require you to arrive after a specified time. Arrive outside your window, either side, and you pay an entry upgrade fee.
So check the ticket for a stated arrival time before you set off. And whatever the ticket says, last entry is always one hour before the event ends.
The hours
Friday and Saturday: 11pm to 6am.
Sunday: 11pm to 4am.
Extended parties occasionally run longer. Weekday events are hosted from time to time, with times given on the individual event listing.
Apply the last-entry rule and a Friday night means being inside by 5am, and a Sunday by 3am.
Zero tolerance, with bins in the queue
Anyone found with illegal drugs will be banned and reported to the police. Anyone found asking for or offering drugs will be banned for life.
There are drug disposal bins in the queues so anything you are carrying can be deposited before you reach the door.
Weapons mean a ban and the police being called.
You will not be banned for saying you feel unwell
The most important line on Fabric’s own site, and it is stated without hedging.
If you feel unwell, tell a member of staff. They are trained to help, they will not judge you, and you will not face a ban for reporting that you are unwell. They will refer you to the medic team if needed.
There is a welfare WhatsApp line, +44 (0)7453 554 961, staffed any time during the night.
An explicit amnesty like that is rare and worth knowing in advance, because the fear of being thrown out is exactly what stops people asking for help.
If you need a break: there is seating opposite the sunken bar between Room One and Room Two, the smoking area is open all night, and the mezzanine above Room One offers a quieter space with extra seating when it is open.
One room is accessible, one is not, and the lift is measured
Fabric publishes the most honest access information of any London nightclub, following an audit carried out with Dancefloor Intimacy and Resident Advisor in early 2026. The page was last updated in May 2026 and states its own limitations deliberately.
Room One is wheelchair accessible.
Room Two can be reached by ramp, but the ramp is steep and may require assistance. Welfare staff can help.
Room Three is not wheelchair accessible.
Some routes include stairs, narrow spaces, low light and high crowd density.
The lift measures 73cm wide, 147cm deep and 199cm high, and they publish a photograph of it. Step-free access depends on the lift being operational, and if it is broken or unavailable they post updates to an accessibility WhatsApp group so you find out before you travel rather than at the door.
Free carer or personal assistant tickets are available. Request them before the event with your name, the event, your ticket confirmation, any additional access needs, and a copy of a PIP or DLA letter or a Nimbus card. They can also be requested at the door.
There is a downloadable accessibility PDF, an accessibility WhatsApp group and a feedback survey.
No paying guest list, and no photos
Fabric does not offer a paying guest list.
There is a separate No Photo Policy, which is why the room looks the way it does rather than like a phone screen.
There is a membership scheme, fabricfirst, and tables can be booked.
Where it is
77a Charterhouse Street, London EC1M 6HJ, opposite Smithfield Market. Farringdon and Barbican are both a few minutes, and Farringdon is on the Elizabeth line.
Fabric runs three rooms, an in-house record shop and the Houndstooth and fabric Records labels.
How to plan it
Do not wear a suit. Business suits, flags and glow wear are all refused.
Bring original photo ID from their accepted list. It will be scanned.
Check your ticket for an arrival window, because arriving outside it costs an upgrade fee.
Last entry is one hour before the end, so 5am on a Friday or Saturday and 3am on a Sunday.
Feeling unwell: tell staff. You will not be banned for it, and the welfare WhatsApp runs all night.
Using a wheelchair: Room One yes, Room Two with help, Room Three no. Check the accessibility WhatsApp group for the lift before travelling.
Bringing a carer: the ticket is free, arranged in advance or at the door.

How to get in
Business suits, flags and glow wear are all refused, which is the opposite of most London door policies. ID is mandatory and scanned, originals only. Early Entry and Entry After tickets carry arrival windows and arriving outside yours costs an upgrade fee. Staff state you will not be banned for reporting that you feel unwell, and a welfare WhatsApp line runs all night. Room One is wheelchair accessible, Room Three is not, and the lift measures 73 by 147 by 199cm.
Where to go next
Ministry of Sound and XOYO are the other two big London clubs, with different door policies.
The clubs page covers the rest, and London at night covers getting home.
Questions we get asked
What is the dress code at fabric?
Guests are encouraged to dress as they like, but business suits, flags and glow wear are not permitted, and management reserve the right to refuse anyone whose attire they feel does not suit the night. It is one of the few London clubs that bans a suit rather than requiring one.
What ID do you need for fabric?
A valid passport, a foreign national ID card, a driving licence, or a Home Office approved PASS hologram. Originals only, no photocopies and no photographs. Entry is 18 and over, ID is mandatory, and it will be scanned onto their ID scanning system as a condition of entry.
What time does fabric open and close?
Friday and Saturday 11pm to 6am, and Sunday 11pm to 4am, with occasional extended parties. Last entry is always one hour before the event ends, so 5am on a Friday or Saturday. Weekday events have their own times on the listing.
Do fabric tickets have an arrival time?
Some do. All tickets are valid all night, but Early Entry Tickets require you to arrive by a specified time and Entry After Tickets require you to arrive after one. Arriving outside your window means paying an entry upgrade fee, so check your ticket before setting off.
What happens if you feel unwell at fabric?
Tell a member of staff immediately. They are trained to help and will refer you to the medic team if needed, and fabric state explicitly that you will not face a ban for reporting that you are unwell. There is also a welfare WhatsApp line on +44 (0)7453 554 961, staffed throughout the night.
Is fabric wheelchair accessible?
Partly, and they publish the limits. Room One is wheelchair accessible, Room Two is reachable by a steep ramp that may need assistance, and Room Three is not accessible. The lift measures 73cm wide, 147cm deep and 199cm high, and step-free access depends on it working, with outages posted to an accessibility WhatsApp group.
Does fabric offer carer tickets?
Yes, free carer or personal assistant tickets. Request them before the event by email with your name, the event, your ticket confirmation, any access needs and a copy of a PIP or DLA letter or a Nimbus card. They can also be requested at the door.
