Osterley has eight separate opening times. Only one day a week has all of them running, and it is Saturday.
Checked on 6 October 2026, the National Trust lists every part of the estate on its own clock:
Park: 09:00 to 17:00, every day.
Garden: 10:00 to 17:00, every day.
House: 11:00 to 15:30, Wednesday to Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
‘Journeys’ exhibition: the same as the house.
Second-hand bookshop: 11:00 to 16:30, every day.
Shop: 10:00 to 17:00, and 09:30 at weekends.
Stables Café: 10:00 to 17:00, and 09:30 at weekends.
Cycle hire: Saturday only, 10:30 to 15:30.
The Trust’s own status for most days is “partially open”. Saturday is the only one marked fully open.
The house gives you four and a half hours, the park gives you eight
The gap that decides what sort of visit this is.
The park opens at nine and closes at five. The house opens at eleven and closes at half past three, and not at all on a Monday or Tuesday.
So arriving at 9am on a Wednesday means two hours in the parkland before the house will let you in, and arriving at 3.30pm means the house has shut while everything else has ninety minutes left.
The useful window, if the house is the point: get there for eleven, Wednesday to Sunday.
Cycle hire is a Saturday thing
Easily missed, and it is the only part of the estate that runs one day a week.
Cycle hire opens 10:30 to 15:30 on Saturdays and is closed every other day.
Given the park is 09:00 to 17:00 and large enough to want wheels, that is a five hour window once a week. Bring your own bike any other day.
Robert Adam designed it for a banking family
A Georgian country estate that is now inside west London, half a mile from the M4.
The house holds grand rooms designed by the architect Robert Adam for the Child family, the bankers, with the below-stairs rooms shown alongside them.
The garden is the other half of the visit: a Tudor walled garden, 18th-century flower beds, and views across the estate, with what the Trust describes as year-round colour.
Beyond that is parkland with lakes, paths and lawns, used for picnics and bird spotting.
Free powered mobility vehicles to borrow
Better than most historic houses manage, and worth knowing in advance.
The Trust lists accessible parking, accessible routes and facilities, and free powered mobility vehicles and wheelchairs to borrow.
That is a meaningfully different offer from Syon Park up the road, which states it cannot admit wheelchair users or motorised scooters to the house at all.
Osterley is also a two pawprint rated place on the National Trust’s dog scale, so dogs are welcome on the estate.
The sat nav postcode is not the address postcode
Small, and it will take you to the wrong gate if you ignore it.
“Jersey Road, Isleworth, Middlesex, TW7 4RB (sat nav TW7 4RD).”
Two different postcodes on one line: TW7 4RB for the address, TW7 4RD for the sat nav. Use the second one when driving.
Telephone 020 8232 5050.
Free with National Trust membership
Osterley charges, so the membership question is live.
The National Trust lists the property as not free to enter, with membership covering more than 500 places including this one. If you are visiting Kew or the other west London estates in the same year, price the membership against the individual tickets first.
Group visits and celebration photography in the parkland, gardens or beneath the portico are both bookable separately.
How to plan it
Everything open: Saturday. It is the only day the Trust marks fully open.
The house: 11:00 to 15:30, Wednesday to Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
The park: 09:00 to 17:00 daily, two hours before the house.
Cycle hire: Saturday only, 10:30 to 15:30.
Weekend: the shop and café open half an hour earlier, at 09:30.
Mobility needs: free powered vehicles and wheelchairs to borrow, unlike Syon Park nearby.
Driving: use TW7 4RD, not TW7 4RB.

How to get in
Eight parts of the estate keep eight different timetables, and only Saturday is marked fully open. The house runs four and a half hours a day against the park’s eight, and is shut on Monday and Tuesday, so arriving at nine on a weekday means two hours outside before it opens. Cycle hire runs on Saturdays only. Free powered mobility vehicles and wheelchairs are available to borrow, unlike at Syon Park nearby. The sat nav postcode, TW7 4RD, differs from the address postcode TW7 4RB. Two pawprint rated for dogs.
Where to go next
Syon Park is the other great house nearby and opens only three days a week, and Kew Gardens is across the river.
London’s parks compares the free alternatives, and day trips covers what is further out.
Questions we get asked
What are Osterley Park's opening times?
They differ by part of the estate. The park runs 09:00 to 17:00 every day and the garden 10:00 to 17:00. The house and the Journeys exhibition open 11:00 to 15:30 Wednesday to Sunday and are closed Monday and Tuesday. The shop and Stables Café run 10:00 to 17:00, opening at 09:30 at weekends, the second-hand bookshop 11:00 to 16:30 daily, and cycle hire on Saturdays only, 10:30 to 15:30.
Is Osterley House open every day?
No. The house and the Journeys exhibition open Wednesday to Sunday only, from 11:00 to 15:30, and are closed on Monday and Tuesday. The park and garden remain open every day, so a Monday or Tuesday visit is a parkland visit.
Can you hire bikes at Osterley Park?
On Saturdays only, from 10:30 to 15:30. Cycle hire is closed every other day of the week, which makes Saturday the only day the National Trust marks the estate as fully open. Bring your own bike on any other day.
Is Osterley Park wheelchair accessible?
More so than most historic houses. The National Trust lists accessible parking, accessible routes and facilities, and free powered mobility vehicles and wheelchairs to borrow. That contrasts with nearby Syon Park, which states it cannot admit wheelchair users or motorised scooters into its house at all.
Can you take dogs to Osterley Park?
Yes. Osterley is a two pawprint rated place on the National Trust's scale, so dogs are welcome to explore the estate with you.
What postcode is Osterley Park?
The address is Jersey Road, Isleworth, Middlesex TW7 4RB, but the National Trust gives a different postcode for sat nav, TW7 4RD. Use TW7 4RD when driving, as the address postcode will take you to the wrong point.
