Odeon Leicester Square: One Ticket Costs More Than a Month of Unlimited

20 pounds a seat against 19.99 for the pass that covers the whole chain. Why the cheaper Limitless tier does not fully work here, and the three cheaper Odeons a few streets away.

One ticket here costs more than a month of unlimited cinema everywhere else.

Checked on 6 October 2026, the adult price at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square showed as from £20.00 for one film that evening and from £17.50 for another.

myLIMITLESS Plus, which covers as many films as you like at any ODEON including this one, is £19.99 a month.

So a single Tuesday night seat in Leicester Square costs a penny more than thirty days of the whole chain. Two visits a year to this one cinema is not far off the price of the pass.

And if you are a student it is worse, or better, depending which side you are on. Students verified through Student Beans get 20 per cent off myLIMITLESS Plus, taking it to £15.99 a month, which is £4 less than one ticket at the door.

The cheaper pass does not fully work here

The trap, and it is the same shape as Picturehouse Central’s.

myLIMITLESS is £16.99 a month, and its own terms say “Additional charges for Luxe cinemas will apply.”

myLIMITLESS Plus is £19.99 a month and includes access to Luxe cinemas with no additional charge.

Leicester Square is ODEON Luxe Leicester Square. It is a Luxe cinema. So the £16.99 pass gets you in to most of the chain but will charge you extra at the flagship, and the £3 a month between the tiers is what buys this building.

ODEON states it plainly in its own small print: “ODEON Luxe cinemas can only be accessed with myLIMITLESS Plus.”

What the £3 difference actually covers

Worth itemising, because the upgrades are charged per visit otherwise.

Seat upgrades included with Plus: Premier, Recliner, Recliner Saver, Recliner Popular and Premier Recliner.

Format upgrades included with Plus: iSENSE, normally £4 a visit, and 3D, normally £2 a visit.

Luxe cinema access and the Luxe menu, with 10 per cent off every transaction.

Run that against the £3 a month. A single iSENSE visit costs £4. So one iSENSE screening a month already pays for the upgrade from myLIMITLESS to Plus, before you have set foot in a Luxe building.

Both tiers carry 10 per cent off food and drink, invitations to member-only screenings, a birthday treat, 10 per cent off tickets for friends and family, and online cancellation.

The minimum age for either membership is 18.

The first Dolby Cinema screen in the UK

The reason the prices are what they are.

ODEON describes Leicester Square as its flagship venue and home of the first Dolby Cinema screen in the UK, with 4K projectors at four times the resolution of a standard screen and Dolby Atmos speakers placed around the auditorium.

The seating is unusual enough to choose by name:

Handmade Luxe recliners through the main auditorium.

The Royal Box: 22 full recliners with extra width, the most indulgent seats in the house.

Luxe Rocker seats in the Upper Circle, which adjust for viewing angle.

So the £20 is not for an ordinary seat. It is for a recliner in a Dolby Cinema, which is a different product from a £7.99 ticket at a suburban ODEON.

£7.99 online, but not in this postcode

ODEON advertises “Enjoy Movies From £7.99 when you book online” across the chain.

Set that against £20.00 and £17.50 on the live listings at Leicester Square and the spread inside one company is two and a half times. The headline price belongs to other buildings.

That is the single most useful thing to understand about Leicester Square: it is priced as a destination, not as a local cinema, and the pass is the way around it.

There are four ODEONs within walking distance

Which matters, because three of them are cheaper.

ODEON lists London Leicester Square, London West End, London Haymarket and London Tottenham Court Road as separate central venues, all within a few minutes of each other.

So if the film is the point rather than the room, walking two streets changes the price. If the Dolby screen is the point, it is only in the one building.

Where it is

24 to 26 Leicester Square, London WC2H 7JY.

Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus are both a minute or two away.

It is the large building on the east side of the square, and it is not the Prince Charles Cinema, which is around the corner on Leicester Place and charges £8 for a weekday matinee with a membership.

How to plan it

Going twice a year or more: buy the pass. One ticket is £20, Plus is £19.99 a month.

Student: £15.99 a month through Student Beans, which is less than one ticket here.

Buying a pass for this cinema: it must be Plus. The £16.99 tier charges extra at Luxe venues.

One iSENSE screening a month pays for the Plus upgrade on its own, at £4 a visit otherwise.

Want the best seat: the Royal Box, 22 extra-wide full recliners.

Price is the point, not the room: walk to Haymarket, Tottenham Court Road or the West End ODEON.

Cheapest film on this square: the Prince Charles, a minute away, at £8 for a member’s weekday matinee.

A single adult ticket costs more than a month of myLIMITLESS Plus, which covers unlimited films across the chain. Because this is a Luxe cinema, the cheaper 16.99 myLIMITLESS tier carries additional charges here and only Plus includes it. The Plus tier also covers iSENSE, normally 4 pounds a visit, and 3D at 2 pounds, so one iSENSE screening a month repays the 3 pound difference between tiers. Three other central ODEONs, at Haymarket, Tottenham Court Road and the West End, are within walking distance and cheaper.

Where to go next

The Prince Charles Cinema is a minute away on Leicester Place and the cheapest cinema in the West End.

Picturehouse Central and Curzon Soho are the two nearest independents, and Soho covers the area.

Questions we get asked

How much is a ticket at Odeon Leicester Square?

Checked on 6 October 2026, the live listings showed adult prices from £20.00 for one film that evening and from £17.50 for another. That is against ODEON's chain-wide advertised price of from £7.99 when booking online, which applies at other venues. Leicester Square is priced as a flagship destination.

Is the Odeon Limitless pass worth it at Leicester Square?

On price alone, after two visits a year. myLIMITLESS Plus is £19.99 a month and covers unlimited films across the chain, which is less than a single £20 adult ticket at Leicester Square. Students verified through Student Beans pay £15.99 a month.

Which Odeon membership covers Leicester Square?

Only myLIMITLESS Plus at £19.99 a month. Leicester Square is an ODEON Luxe cinema, and ODEON states that Luxe cinemas can only be accessed with Plus, with the cheaper £16.99 myLIMITLESS tier carrying additional charges at Luxe venues.

What is the difference between myLIMITLESS and myLIMITLESS Plus?

£3 a month. Plus adds access to Luxe cinemas with no extra charge, seat upgrades to Premier, Recliner, Recliner Saver, Recliner Popular and Premier Recliner, and format upgrades to iSENSE and 3D, which otherwise cost £4 and £2 a visit. One iSENSE screening a month covers the difference on its own.

What seats does Odeon Leicester Square have?

Handmade Luxe recliners through the main auditorium, a Royal Box of 22 full recliners with extra width, and Luxe Rocker seats in the Upper Circle that adjust for viewing angle. It is also home to the first Dolby Cinema screen in the UK, with 4K projection at four times standard resolution and Dolby Atmos.

Are there other Odeons near Leicester Square?

Three, all within a short walk and all cheaper: London West End, London Haymarket and London Tottenham Court Road. ODEON lists them as separate venues. The Dolby Cinema screen is only in the Leicester Square building.
